šŸ‘Ā Project 4
šŸ‘©ā€šŸ’» ABOUT THIS PROJECT
This is a SchoolĀ Project, which isĀ talking about the relationship between me and my home under the pandemic background.Ā
Since the Covid has begun, mostĀ people haveĀ experienced a quarantine life inside their apartments. What happened during this period and how does the behavior interact with theĀ space? Based on these questions, IĀ decided to record my daily life for a month, and try to discover peopleā€™s daily indoor tracks.
I used the wireframe to indicate each room and some significant appliances and furniture and filled them with a color series. And the color from darkest to lightest indicates the time I spent from most to least. After recording for a whole month, thereĀ is a special "calender" born to show the relationship betweenĀ SPACE, TIME,Ā andĀ ME.
šŸŽ¬ DESIGN PROCESS AND TIMELINE
šŸ” RESEARCH
At first, I made a one-week record to track my daily routes in our building and used wireframes to represent different parts of theĀ 3 floors I spend the most time on, which areĀ the 9th floor, 8th floor, and 16th floor.Ā The 8th floor is a gym and balcony,Ā the 9th floor is a space for study and entertainment, and my apartment is on the 16th floor.Ā Before recording, I walked around the three floors, drew the floor plan, and used numbers to symbolize its function.
Then, I used colors to represent the time I spent on these 3 floors from 6 pm to 12 pm for a week.Ā
The deeper, the longer;Ā the lighter, the shorter.
In this research, it's obvious that the darkest part is always the corner on the 16th floor, which is just my room. After getting feedback from my classmates and professor, I realizedĀ this version can be so general, to make a more specific and detailed design, I narrowed down my topic to my apartment only.
Therefore,Ā I focus on my apartment and use different shapes to represent different parts of my apartment, which contains, the whole room, kitchen counter, desk, hearth, bed, freezer, washer, and bathroom.
šŸ’” IDEATION
Based on the second idea, I added a first-person view sight illustration based on the real environment, which can make the usersĀ a better experience. When people click the frame, they will jump into this.
šŸŽØ STYLE GUIDE
For the branding system, the typeface I selectedĀ LEGENDĀ as the title " Space. Time. Me"Ā Ā which matches the geometrical style of the whole design, and the text font is Helvetica.
Those clickable buttons are filled with white with black strokes, after being clicked, these will be filled with black.

šŸ“‘ CONCLUSION
Making this project is more like storytelling. Itā€™s an archive of my everyday life. Using a storytelling method to design the website can give the reader/user a better experience to go through it. What I can do next is going to add more changes, not only to show daily life with changing colors but also some specific items. Also, I can try to add more personal feelings, and be more creative, not just make everything so normal,
